Colonel Williams began his military career graduating from West Point before serving as a test pilot on numerous air frames. His love of flight and service to his country led him to become an Astronaut in 1996. He first spent 10 days as a part of Space Shuttle mission STS-101 aboard the Endeavor in 2000 and then began training for 183-day Expedition 13. He returned to space on 3 separate, 6 month deployments aboard the International Space Station and has orbited the earth more than 2,800 times.
