Ways to Support Southern Seminary

Invest in the next generation of gospel ministers.

This spring, 2,676 students are enrolled at Southern Seminary and 1,010 at Boyce. Many have made significant sacrifices to train for gospel ministry. Their sacrifices would be greater were it not for friends of the seminary who make their own sacrifices. You can support Southern by:

Volunteering

Volunteering

Many supported the mission by volunteering to serve at the seminary. During the 2014-2015 fiscal year, over 300 volunteers saved Southern nearly $5,000.

Your time can be used to support Southern in numerous ways. Opportunities to volunteer include Events, Chapel services, Fall Festival, and more. Visit sbts.edu/volunteer.

Referring Students

Referring

Referrals influence many students in their decision to apply to Southern and Boyce. About 3 out of 10 (29.9%) Southern applicants reported that they “heard about Southern” from their church or pastor. Similarly, roughly 1 out of every 4 applicants (26.6%) cited the same for Boyce College.

Your availability to answer questions about Southern and Boyce is priceless and one of the most practical ways to support the seminary. You can refer a student at sbts.edu/refer.

Praying

“Financial affluence is not a requirement for a man or woman of faith to aid the mission of Southern Seminary. I have seen evidence of God acting on our behalf in response to the prayers of faithful friends.” – Craig Parker

Praying

Your regular prayer for the students, faculty, and administration and alumni of Southern Seminary is essential for all we do.

Investing

Investing

Financial gifts to Southern Seminary allow us to keep our tuition low, our standards high, and our impact great. Over half of the cost of tuition for the typical Southern student is paid for by someone else. In fact, the estimated total that Southern supporters save each student is $25,632. A significant amount of that support comes through your local churches that participate in the Cooperative Program. The Cooperative Program contributes 23 percent to the seminary’s funding. The rest of the support comes through the annual fund.

Annual Fund

During the 2014-2015 fiscal year, the annual fund raised more than $1.5 million. Every dollar given to the Annual Fund is a dollar our students will not have to pay in tuition.
