Steven Harris ‘11
has been appointed the director of advocacy for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission Washington, D.C. office. Harris will work with government leaders in the legislative and executive branches to advocate for the ERLC on important issues, while also analyzing legislation and producing content for ERLC outlets.
Gary Hollingsworth '93
was called to serve as executive director-treasurer of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The search committee’s nomination of Gary was unanimously approved by messengers of the state’s convention. Gary begins his new role after pastoring Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas since 2007.
Paul Sanchez ‘14
was called to the pastorate of Emaus Church in San Jose, California. He is making this move back to his hometown after completing his Ph.D. in history at Southern. Formerly, Paul served the Kentucky Baptist Convention as their campus missionary to the University of Louisville.
Troy Harrison '11
was called to the pastorate of Siloam Baptist Church in Easley, South Carolina. He and his wife, Jennifer, left Southern after several years of service. Troy was an assistant to Provost Randy Stinson and Jennifer worked in the Accounting office.
Brad Wheeler ‘08
was called to the pastorate of University Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He transitions to this new role after having served as a pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. for several years. University Baptist Church is located only a few blocks from the University of Arkansas.
