Even when the commitment to other matters of sound doctrine is strong and clear, Christians get nervous and uncertain in their commitment to the doctrine of the Trinity as revealed in Scripture and confessed by the church for many centuries.

The historical existence of Adam and Eve as the first human beings and the biological progenitors of the entire human race is a matter of great theological consequence for Christians, and some interpretive strategies are better suited to defend belief in a historical Adam and Eve than others.
